There is some debate about what the largest breed of cat is.
The longest domestic cat was a 5-year-old Maine Coon. He measured 48 1/2 inches. Check out his article here.
The heaviest cat on record is Himmy, a tabby, weighing 46.8lbs (21.3kg). Unfortunately, Himmy died of respiratory failure at age 10. The Gunniess Book of World Records no longer accepts entries for heaviest cat, because they feared pet owners would overfeed their felines.

On average, Maine Coon and Ragdoll breeds are the largest. Maine Coons range from 13-18 pounds, while Ragdolls can weigh as much as 20 pounds.
